Women of Cacao (WOC) is a global, bilingual community bringing together women across the cacao value chain to explore the science, history, culture, and future of cacao.
From farmers and chocolatiers to scientists, historians, wellness professionals, and cacao lovers, we connect diverse voices, experiences, and knowledge across 22 countries and counting.
Through expert-led monthly workshops, educational courses, our free annual WOC Summit, and virtual and in-person gatherings, we create spaces for learning, collaboration, and meaningful connections.
We believe that sharing knowledge, honoring ancestral wisdom, and amplifying women's voices are essential to building a more sustainable, inclusive, and regenerative future for cacao.

Meet the Founders
Women of Cacao was co-founded by Fiorella Richter and Ava J. Holmes, bringing together cacao, culture, education and ecology to connect women worldwide and amplify their knowledge, work and impact.

Co-Founder | Cacao Educator & Founder of Kaukawa Cacao
Based in Peru, Fiorella Richter is a cacao educator, certified chocolate taster and founder of Kaukawa Cacao, a company dedicated to native cacao varieties, sensory exploration and origin-centered experiences.
Her work connects cacao quality and culture with the knowledge of producing communities. She is passionate about creating spaces where ancestral wisdom, contemporary research and the stories of cacao-growing territories can meet.Ava J. Holmes
Co-Founder | Entrepreneur, Storyteller & Co-Founder of Cacao Center
Ava J. Holmes is an entrepreneur and social innovator whose work brings together activism, creative storytelling, fashion, chocolate and ecological initiatives.
She also co-founded Cacao Center, an educational and research hub in the lower Amazon focused on wild cacao, medicinal plants and regenerative agroforestry. Through collaborations with local communities, scientists and conservationists, her work explores the connections between cacao, culture and the living world.
